What a roller coaster, Nancy! I mis-guessed the relationship between the car owner and the young woman, I did not expect the "villians" to comfort the girl, I did not expect Italian justice to be so kind, etc. Well told!
I'm exhausted after reading about this convoluted, but ultimately heartwarming, episode. Two questions: How can we promote this style of empathy and conflict resolution in the United States? Can the people in this episode be brought to the negotiating table to resolve Ukraine-Russia and U.S.-Iran?
Wouldn't that be nice to bring that father/daughter team to those international negotiations. I think people are generally less angry in Italy than they are in the US, which makes the break through to seeing our common humanity easier.
